Denmark power cords
Denmark utilizes two main power cord standards
Danish Standard AFSNIT 107-2-D1 (Type K Plug)
- This is the official and mandatory standard for power cords in Denmark. It resembles the Schuko plug but has a shorter ground pin for enhanced safety.
- Voltage and amperage: Denmark uses 230V AC. Choose a cord with appropriate amperage rating matching your device’s needs.
- Certification: Look for Danish Safety Approval from Dansk Standard (DS) to ensure compliance with safety regulations.
- Grounding: All AFSNIT 107-2-D1 plugs incorporate grounding for safety.
CEE 7 (Optional, Limited Use)
- In very rare cases, you might find the CEE 7 standard (Schuko) with two round pins and two grounding clips still used, mainly in older installations.
- However, using CEE 7 cords is highly discouraged due to incompatibility with Danish sockets and potential safety hazards. They do not have the short grounding pin and can create connection issues or incomplete grounding.
