Switzerland power cords
Switzerland uses two types of power cords: the grounded Type J plug and the ungrounded CEE 7/16 Europlug. Both plugs have two round prongs and are rated for 230 volts AC.
- Type J is the standard plug used in Switzerland. It has a larger pin than the Europlug and is rated for up to 16 amps. This means it can handle more power and is suitable for appliances that draw a lot of current, such as hair dryers and vacuum cleaners.
- CEE 7/16 Europlug is a smaller plug that is also used in many other European countries. It is rated for up to 2.5 amps and is suitable for appliances that draw less power, such as laptops and phone chargers.
